The main outcome measures of side effects included changes in weight and body mass index (BMI) and the incidence of various adverse events. The secondary outcomes were the scores on the positive and negative symptom subscale of the PANSS or the Children's Psychiatric Rating Scale (CPRS) (Fish 1985 ). Results: A total of 289 patients were enrolled in the open-label extension study.
